Food Film Fest 2013
This week, the Food Film Festival comes to New York City! Do you love food? Do you love films? Do you love festivals? I mean, you can't possibly answer "no" to any of these.

Last year, we had the incomparable experience of having dinner in a movie theater at the "I ♥ Japan" night. The Food Film Festival allows filmmakers to create food-related shorts and then serve the foods featured in their films to the moviegoers. This is like Smell-O-Vision to the n-th degree! I had some chicken wings and ramen that I still dream about today....
This year's events are:
Wednesday, October 23 - KINGS OF BBQ
Barbecue is one of the most beloved, food-porn-worthy, yet hotly contested segments of American cuisine. The films that will be shown talk about mixing diversity into barbecue styles, as well as bringing barbecue abroad to diverse places to satisfy American tastes.
Thursday, October 24 - EDIBLE ADVENTURE #008: THE SURPRISE INSIDE
Who doesn't like surprises? Tonight's films highlight a few classic foods like tacos, cupcakes, and all sorts of international dumplings...all with some hidden goodies inside. Are boozy cupcakes enough to tempt you?
Friday, October 25 - UNTITLED I
I'm always extremely impressed by chefs' plating of dishes. How do they know that a swoosh of sauce here and a sprig of herb there will look so delectable! These films talk about the artistry and inspiration of food and wine.
Saturday, October 26 - COOK, PRAY, EAT: SERVING 50,000 MEALS AT THE SIKH GOLDEN TEMPLE IN AMRITSAR
You could almost get me to drop anything I'm doing for some good Indian food, but throw in Jehangir Mehta (with whom I fell in love on Next Iron Chef...be still my beating heart!) and Monsieur Singh's Lassi (with whom I fell in love at The Vendy Awards 2012)? At the Golden Temple in Amritsar, devout volunteers prepare and serve free meals daily to those in need. Not only is it an astronomical feat, but it must be fascinating to see the love that goes into cooking for thousands.
Saturday, October 26 - FOOD PORN PARTY NYC
Self. Explanatory. *heart and stomach and possibly other body parts flutter*
Sunday, October 27 - FARM TO FILM TO TABLE + MATT TIMMS' GREEN CHILE TAKEDOWN
Channel your inner Michelle Obama by learning about sustainable food. There will also be a green chile taste test, and the Awards and Closing Ceremony.
